Overview

Job Summary:

Support the NASIC Cybersecurity team, facilitating the assessment and authorization (A&A) and continuous monitoring of approximately 65 operational national security systems within NASIC in accordance with Intelligence Community Directive 503, National Institute of Standards and Technologies 800-Series Publications, Committee on National Security Systems Instructions, and the Risk Management Framework.

Support the NASIC Cybersecurity Branch, NASIC Information System Security Managers (ISSMs), and Information System Security Officers (ISSOs) in the oversight and execution of organizationwide Cybersecurity programs through the creation, maintenance, and delivery of policy, process documentation, and training.

Provide analytical support and risk assessment for output from cybersecurity capabilities such as endpoint security, audit logs, and vulnerability scanning

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Plan, support and execute Microsoft OS and Server migrations.

  • Perform installation, configuration, troubleshooting, technical assistance and/or training in response to customer requirements for the foundational IT environment.

  • Develop, or evaluate, and test scripts for automation of IT-related tasks for all system designs. Test automation in approved test environment. Assist system administrators with integration and implementation of automation.

  • Develop, test and troubleshoot scripts written in languages including but not limited to Microsoft Powershell, Python, bash, and perl. Use automation tools like ansible, puppet, chef. Use software defined techniques and integration with RESTful API’s.

  • Support performance monitoring and situational awareness ‘dash-boarding’ for Microsoft technologies and SC processes supported by Microsoft products.

  • Draft/coordinate/update design, architecture, implementation, and security documentation and artifacts including engineering references, implementation instructions, and security compliance documentation.

  • Support systems integration between current and new services, operating systems, servers and applications as required.

  • Support daily activities of the Systems Engineering Branch to include internal/external document reviews, solution development for computer system requirements documents (CSRD) and requests for assistance from other SC branches.

  • Assist with modifying NASIC’s self-service portal, XML management packs, and service workflows in SCSM.

  • Plan, install, configure, and troubleshoot Microsoft products including:

  • Operating systems.

  • Microsoft Servers (SQL, SCCM, SCSM).

  • Microsoft System Center Orchestrator and Integration Packs.

  • Non-Microsoft third-party service management products (Provance).

  • Create, modify, and troubleshoot web dashboards developed in Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) including but not limited to Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) using hypertext markup language (HTML), ASP.NET, C#, and Visual Studio.

  • Support integration activities with Unix systems, services and storage appliances including Storage Area Network (SAN) appliances, Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP), etc.

  • Create and modify web-based reports in SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).

  • Provide expert-level MS-SQL Server analysis, design, configuration and management to support configuration management, operations management, application, cybersecurity, and availability requirements.

  • Provide high-level (tier-4) troubleshooting and remediation for all Microsoft products and technologies on an ad-hoc basis IAW established procedures and processes.

  • Provide functional area reports weekly, summarizing work accomplished, work planned, and important issues occurring during the week (CDRL A001).

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Possess & maintain Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certificationas required by Air Force Manual (AFMAN) 17-1303, Department of Defense (DoD) Directive 8140.01, and DoD 8570.01-M.

  • Active TS/SCI clearance.
