Job Summary:
Akima Data Management is currently seeking System Administrator to join the team and his responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:
Job Responsibilities:
Administers, develops, runs tests, implements, and maintains operating system and related software.
Establishes and implements standards for computer operations for compatibility between hardware and software, according to specifications and parameters.
Troubleshoots and resolves software, operating system, and networking problems.
Schedules, performs, and monitors system backups and performs data recoveries.
Recommends hardware and software upgrades according to growth statistics and disk space forecasts.
Configures hardware, such as workstations, printers, servers, and tape devices.
Provides technical support for system users.
Performs work under direct supervision.
Handles basic issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
An active DoD Secret clearance is required for consideration.
Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Telecommunications, or Management Information Systems preferred, or 3 years of documented experience relevant to this position.
Minimum of DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification required.
Demonstrate 3 years of experience in producing, managing, and maintaining network architectural drawings and schematic diagrams.
Demonstrate 3 years of experience providing installation support for network applications.
Demonstrate 3 years of experience performing network monitoring of the network to include all assets.
Demonstrate 3 years of experience providing technical support, advice and troubleshooting for utility network operations with a 99.999% target network uptime.
Demonstrate 3 years of experience producing documentation for use in configuration, repair and troubleshooting of hardware, software and network operating systems.
Demonstrate 3 years working with TCP/IP in Software Defined Network (SDN) design.
Demonstrate 3 years of experience troubleshooting, resolving, and communicating networking issues to other employees and management.
Demonstrate 3 years of experience installing and configuring network equipment.
Document 3 years of experience regarding the ability to analyze and evaluate networks, identify issues and provide solutions to ensure networks are operating efficiently.
Document 3 years of experience regarding the ability to manage several projects simultaneously from design to implementation.
Document 3 years of experience regarding the ability to communicate technical information to other technical team members but also to coworkers in other departments who may not have knowledge of networking technical terminology.
Demonstrate 3 years of experience with developing and documenting processes and procedures for the day-to-day operations.
Demonstrate 3 years of experience in task automation using scripting.
Demonstrate 3 years of experience in implementing and maintaining patch versions and Department of Defense (DoD) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) levels on all network servers and workstations.
Demonstrate 3 years of experience utilizing the DoD Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) to update, manage and track implementation of information security requirements for the IT assets and resources.
