Job Summary
Tuvli, an Akima company, is hiring for a Staff Assistant to support our DoS client located in Washington, DC.
Job Responsibilities:
This position will be providing professional support services for the Office of the Special Envoy to the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS (CT/SECI).
Prepare daily and weekly briefing materials for the Deputy Special Representative and the Office Director.
Work closely with senior-level staff in the office and provide support on various high-level counter-ISIS issues, across all lines of efforts.
Draft briefing material, background papers, correspondence and other policy documents on a variety of substantive subjects.
Clear and ensure accuracy of incoming briefing material, including briefing checklists, annotated agendas, and other department and interagency documents.
Coordinate closely with regional and functional bureaus as well as with the Secretary of State’s Office on the 7th floor, interagency, and international partners.
As a key member of the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS’ Executive Secretariat staff, support Coalition meeting planning and logistics both for in person and virtual meetings.
Prepare notes and readouts for key SECI meetings.
Support SECI leadership on TDY travel, as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 2 plus years of experience is preferred.
A thorough knowledge of the organizational structure of the State Department and CT combined with comprehensive understanding of the paper flow process to/from the Executive Secretariat, the Secretariat, the Operations Center and the 7th floor Principals is required.
Able to be available for overseas travel.
Able to work effectively with minimal supervision and deal directly and effectively with senior officials of the Department and interagency management.
