Cybersecurity Engineer

Job Summary:

Akima Global Technology is seeking a Mid-Level Cybersecurity Engineer to join our team to support and be responsible for conducting National Security System (NSS) assessments and the analysis of cybersecurity risk assessments, security control assessments, creation of Body of Evidence (BoE) artifacts (e.g., Security Assessment Report (SAR)) in support of Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities in accordance with DHS 4300B policy and guidance, system categorization coordination, and cyber risk recommendation reporting, in support of NSCD work products.

Job Responsibilities:

• Draft and maintain Standard Operating Procedure documents for processes internal and external to the Branch.

• Document and address information security, cybersecurity architecture, and systems security engineering requirements.

• Analyze continuous monitoring, configuration management, vulnerability management, asset management, software management and self-reported data to identify trends and anomalies cybersecurity performance and mitigation of risks.

• Review, analyze and manage DHS Performance Plan Metrics for assigned programs and systems; report any discrepancies to the Federal Compliance Manager, ISSO and ISSM.

• Review System Design, architecture, interconnection documents and diagrams.

• Create Security Impact Analysis Reports.

• Document technical meeting notes and create presentations/briefings.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 4 years of prior experience in Vulnerability Management, Asset Management, and/or Software Management.

• Prior experience developing Standard Operating Procedures.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.

• Active Top Secret and SCI Eligible.

• Security certification or higher.

Desired Qualifications:

• Prior Department of Homeland Security experience a plus.

• CISSP, CISM, CRISC, or CSSP certification a plus.
