Job Summary:

9 AF (AFCENT) is USCENTCOM’s air component command to support critical planning and execution functions, during peacetime, contingencies, and wartime functions. The 9 AF (AFCENT) A3, Director of Operations, is (AFCENT)’s Operational Planning Team (OPT) lead for all basing options and planning Combat Operation Actions for all directorates. (AFCENT) A3 as the lead in these areas directly supports USCENTCOM’s ability to respond to requirements for the war fighter. The purpose of this effort is to provide the required systems engineering, operational planning, support functions, training, and integration to 9 AF (AFCENT) A3 in their support of USCENTCOM mission requirements going forward.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise and consultation in the areas of development, GFM planning, policies, business rules, planning for and execution of AFCENT/USCENTCOM taskings.

  • Examples of AFCENT A3 efforts requiring contractor support and expertise for routine suspensions and staff inquiries:

    • Assist cadre at each site in the development of base-specific functional area directives, TTPs, and training plans.

    • Assist wings, unit leaders, and personnel with incorporating C2IMERA and C2IE capabilities into daily operations to enhance operational and support requirements.

    • Provide C2IMERA and C2IE fielding, training, system overview, and capabilities briefings to personnel.

    • Attend numerous planning meetings, Video Teleconferences and telecons for GFM planning efforts.

    • Attend weekly AFCENT/USCENTCOM/ACC staff meetings and staff meeting VTC's.

    • Develop and conduct weekly AFCENT A3 scheduling meetings.

  • Types of AFCENT A3 efforts requiring technical input/information and consultation for the development of theater response options and courses of action, and development of GFM planning, policies and business rules, and execution:

    • Attend and assist with conduct of operational -level joint AFCENT GFM planning.

    • Advise AFCENT senior leadership and staff on Request for Forces, Force Management Levels, Orders, and Air Expeditionary Forces capabilities.

    • Integrate AFCENT's airpower requirements with USCENTCOM and supporting component missions and with Joint Staff and Headquarters Air Force.

    • Validate enduring and emerging requirements, submits change requests, and ensures requirements are correctly ordered and sourced.

    • Coordinate with subordinate AFCENT commands and with USCENTCOM and supporting components on airpower capabilities and requirements.

    • Coordinate AFCENT functional area management sourcing for airpower force requirements in USCENTCOM's area of responsibility.

  • Provide JOPES management support when required.

  • Assist office management and processes when required.

  • Integrate AFCENT's airpower requirements with USCENTCOM and supporting component missions and with Joint Staff and Headquarters Air Force.

  • Validate enduring and emerging requirements, submits change requests, and ensures requirements are correctly ordered and sourced.

  • Coordinate with subordinate AFCENT commands and with USCENTCOM and supporting components on airpower capabilities and requirements.

  • Coordinate AFCENT functional area management sourcing for airpower force requirements in USCENTCOM's area of responsibility.

  • Provide JOPES management support when required.

  • Assist office management and processes when required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in any field and 15 years’ experience in weapons systems global force management or Master’s Degree in any field and 10 years’ experience in weapons systems global force management.

  • Prior Rated Officer or minimum 3 years’ experience with rated officer weapons system functional area issues.

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience with GFM at the Component level or higher.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in CENTCOM’s FRED and the Joint Capabilities Requirement Manager (JCRM).

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience deployed within the USCENTCOM operational environment.

  • Minimum 2 years of staff experience at the Component level or higher.

  • Top Secret/SCI clearance and eligibility to attain Alternate Compensatory Control Measures.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as an Office of Functional Area Manager Oversight (OFAMO), as defined in AFI 10-401, is desired.
