Job Description:
Provide assistance to the AMA in planning, organizing, coordinating, and evaluating contract actions in support of the Bureau of Diplomatic Security.
Aid AMAs in providing support to the local guard, bodyguard, and surveillance detection programs. Will review and prepare written recommendations on Embassy local guard contracting actions. These actions include solicitations, solicitation amendments, contracts, and contract modifications. Reviews will be based on compliance with DS policy, Department of State Acquisition Regulations (DOSAR) and the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). Work with Post personnel to resolve deficiencies found in contract actions. When directed, perform contract administration reviews and special projects as assigned. The PA will work with AMAs, providing assistance, evaluating program operations, and contributing to joint solutions for increased effectiveness and efficiency.
Maintain office library of post contracts including following up with post or the Office of Acquisitions Management (AQM) for missing contract actions. Monitor and track incoming work including solicitation reviews and modification approvals. Maintain record of the status of all post contracts. Maintain and monitor timing of contract actions. Provide administrative support related to travel and time and attendance. Draft correspondence including cables for overseas posts.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree.
Two (2) years of general experience in a contracting or administrative related position.
Experience in providing technical expertise and guidance on acquisition or administrative functions and have knowledge in evaluating program operations and devising solutions to increase effectiveness.
Must be able to travel and have no impediments to overseas travel to countries considered dangerous or unhealthy.
Capable of working effectively with others, including those of different cultures; desirable is a familiarity with foreign affairs agencies.
Active SECRET security clearance.
