Job Summary:

Utilizes wire diagrams and designs to perform electrical installations (conduit bending, electrical connections, wire installation, grounding and bonding of electrical components, lightning-protection, and home-station electrical and electronic installations) compliant with National Electric Code and FAA standards.

Possess the skill and ability to rearrange or install new outlets, relays, switches, and light fixtures into existing and new systems. Construction site skills associated with remote installations of National Airspace System (NAS), DoD and other Agency systems (i.e., basic carpentry for assembling concrete forms, placement and finishing concrete for shelter installations, and operating mechanized construction equipment such as skid steer loaders, trenchers, excavators, and towing/backing trailers).

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

The Electronics Technician Maintenance I applies basic technical knowledge to perform simple or routine tasks following detailed instructions, performs such tasks as:

  • Replacing components, wiring circuits, repairing simple electronic equipment; and taking test readings using common instruments such as digital multi-meters, signal generators, semiconductor testers, curve tracers, and oscilloscopes.

  • This person works under close supervision receiving technical guidance from supervisor or higher-level technician. Work is checked frequently for accuracy.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • An associate degree in electrical or engineering technology, or completion of equivalent formal technical training courses.

  • Practical experience in an electronic technician support position is required. This experience must include:

  • Troubleshooting, repairing, assembling, testing, and installing electrical, electronic systems and equipment. Assists in developing, reviewing, and updating engineering documentation and processes utilizing necessary soldering, tool and test equipment.

  • Ability to utilize wire diagrams and designs to perform electrical installations (conduit bending, electrical connections, wire installation, grounding and bonding of electrical components, lightning-protection, and home-station electrical and electronic installations) compliant with National Electric Code and FAA standards. - NACI Clearance - ability to obtain Public Trust. - Ability to pass TSA background checks for airport badging.

  • NACI Clearance - ability to obtain Public Trust.

  • Ability to pass TSA background checks for airport badging.

  • Ability to travel (up to 25%).

Desired Qualifications:

  • Specialized knowledge of FAA systems, equipment, procedures, and operations is highly desired.
