Job Summary:
Akima Infrastructure Services, LLC (AIS), is actively seeking candidates to support personnel as part of our staff augmentation team supporting the Department of Energy in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Successful candidates will be employees of AIS, a premier government contractor charged with employing highly motivated and well-qualified personnel who can advance customer's core mission. Though employed by AIS, the employee will take day-to-day direction and assignments from customer staff and procedures. Pay, benefits, Human Resources, and Employment Management functions are provided by AIS.
Qualified applicants must be a US citizen, at least 18 years of age, and able to meet pre-employment requirements including any required physicals, drug screen, and/or background investigation to satisfy clearance requirements from the Department of Energy.
Job Responsibilities:
Assigned work generally consists of complex problems.
Scope of work involves many parallel tasks requiring prioritization.
Serves as the subject matter expert on complex matters and collaborates with others to resolve issues.
Provides solutions that require in-depth analysis of multiple tangible and intangible factors and the creative use of established methods. Collaborates in the development of innovative methods or solutions.
Uses independent judgment in determining approach to work, methods, and techniques. May have latitude to allocate resources.
Work is evaluated upon completion of major milestones or project completion.
May serve as mentor or lead to less senior waste specialists.
Minimum Qualifications:
Level 2:
- Education/Experience: AA/AS and 2 years of related experience or 6 years of related experience in waste handling or similar field.
Level 3:
- Education/Experience: AA/AS and 5 years of experience or 9 years of related experience related experience in waste handling or similar field.
Level 4:
- Education/Experience: AA/AS degree and 8 years of experience or 12 years of related experience in waste handling or similar field.
Level 5:
- Education/Experience: AA/AS degree 10 years of experience or 14 years of related experience in waste handling or similar field.
Level 6:
- Education/Experience: AA/AS degree 12 years of experience or 16 years of related experience in waste handling or similar field.
