Job Summary:
Akima Infrastructure Services, LLC (AIS), is actively seeking candidates to support personnel as part of our staff augmentation team supporting the Department of Energy in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Successful candidates will be employees of AIS, a premier government contractor charged with employing highly motivated and well-qualified personnel who can advance customer's core mission. Though employed by AIS, the employee will take day-to-day direction and assignments from customer staff and procedures. Pay, benefits, Human Resources, and Employment Management functions are provided by AIS.
Qualified applicants must be a US citizen, at least 18 years of age, and able to meet pre-employment requirements including any required physicals, drug screen, and/or background investigation to satisfy clearance requirements from the Department of Energy.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide technical support for waste generators to develop waste profiles.
Assist with waste characterization as requested.
Provide field guidance on how to implement waste disposition procedural requirements.
Assure waste storage areas are being properly maintained by the waste generators.
Identify waste generation volumes.
Provide liaison support between field and waste programs.
Independent reviewer of waste characterization data to determine if it is representative and meets regulatory requirements.
Validates waste generator with waste profile are in compliance with customer procedures.
Subject Matter Expert for technical and regulatory issues with field operations.
Lead procedural development activities that integrate field activities with waste management requirements.
Perform training to field personnel on newly developed procedures and assist with field implementation.
Identifies trends and analysis for department and organizational improvements.
Provides supervision and technical assistance as requested to waste coordinators and other team members.
Validates waste requires treatment or can be direct disposed.
Interface with offsite treatment contractors to determine viability of waste treatment capability.
Assist with contract statement of work development.
Verify waste can meet disposal site waste acceptance criteria.
Assures waste storage areas are being inspected as required.
Monitor field operations to determine the amount of waste to be generated by the project and during what timeframe.
Interface with disposal facility on clarification on waste profile information as necessary.
Support field operations in maintaining compliance to waste disposition procedural requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
Level 3:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
Level 5:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
Level 6:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree and 12 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and work-related experience (14 years of experience required without an AA/AS).
Level 7:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree and 15 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
