Security System Specialist - Multiple Levels - Department of Energy (DOE)

Job Summary:

Akima Infrastructure Services, LLC (AIS), is actively seeking candidates to support personnel as part of our staff augmentation team supporting the Department of Energy in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Successful candidates will be employees of AIS, a premier government contractor charged with employing highly motivated and well-qualified personnel who can advance customer's core mission. Though employed by AIS, the employee will take day-to-day direction and assignments from customer staff and procedures. Pay, benefits, Human Resources, and Employment Management functions are provided by AIS.

Qualified applicants must be a US citizen, at least 18 years of age, and able to meet pre-employment requirements including any required physicals, drug screen, and/or background investigation to satisfy clearance requirements from the Department of Energy.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide Physical Security program support functions including updating program management reports and tracking the progress of open and on-going initiatives.

• Support security exercises and testing.

• Assist with and perform physical security audits and inspections.

• Assist with the implementation of Security technology strategies and solutions for access control and security surveillance camera systems.

• Attend project meetings to assess the security implications of proposed changes.

• Implements security technology strategies and solutions with a focus on scalable growth, automation and optimal business outcomes.

• Conduct ongoing functionality testing of security systems and associated hardware to ensure proper coverage and

• operation. Identify malfunctions, trouble shoot and work closely with vendors to resolve issues.

• Work with IT to identify how security systems are impacted during bi-monthly maintenance windows. Perform system validations as needed.

• Provide limited supervision to the Physical Security Technician team ensuring completion of projects, preventative maintenance schedules, and physical security systems oversight.

• Implements security technology strategies and solutions with a focus on scalable growth, automation and optimal business outcomes.

• Maintains the life cycle management plan for security equipment and sustains working inventory of system specifications and equipment.

• Assess requirements for the Enterprise Security Access Control System (ESACS)

• Procure hardware and software as necessary for the access control and the badging system.

• Provide security systems technical support to the Visitor Control and Badging Office as needed.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Level 4:

• Bachelor's degree (security-related preferred), with 8 years of related experience or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

• With an Associate degree, 12 years of related experience is required, or

• With a High School Diploma, 16 years of related experience is required.

• *Active DOE Q clearance.

Level 5:

• Bachelor's degree (security-related preferred), with 10 years of related experience or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

• With an Associate degree, 14 years of related experience is required, or

• With a High School Diploma, 18 years of related experience is required.

• *Active DOE Q clearance.

Level 6:

• Bachelor's degree (security-related preferred), with 12 years of related experience or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

• With an Associate degree, 16 years of related experience is required, or

• With a High School Diploma, 20 years of related experience is required.

• *Active DOE Q clearance.

Level 7:

• Bachelor's degree (security-related preferred), with 15 years of related experience or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

• With an Associate degree, 19 years of related experience is required, or

• With a High School Diploma, 23 years of related experience is required.
