Project Manager - Multiple Levels - Department of Energy (DOE)

Job Summary:

Akima Infrastructure Services, LLC (AIS), is actively seeking candidates to support personnel as part of our staff augmentation team supporting the Department of Energy in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Successful candidates will be employees of AIS, a premier government contractor charged with employing highly motivated and well-qualified personnel who can advance customer's core mission. Though employed by AIS, the employee will take day-to-day direction and assignments from customer staff and procedures. Pay, benefits, Human Resources, and Employment Management functions are provided by AIS.

Qualified applicants must be a US citizen, at least 18 years of age, and able to meet pre-employment requirements including any required physicals, drug screen, and/or background investigation to satisfy clearance requirements from the Department of Energy.

Job Responsibilities:

• Demonstrates and provides project leadership in their area of responsibility.

• Demonstrates leadership by example with integrity and candor.

• Leads project proposal efforts for small and mid-size projects.

• Consistently demonstrates the ability to proactively identify potential project problems or opportunities, analyze the issues using all appropriate resources, develop alternatives, and arrive at the most optimum approach to mitigate problems or exploit opportunities.

• Demonstrates knowledge of resources and capabilities of other groups for appropriate incorporation into project organization.

• Capable of developing and taking responsibility for the Project Execution Plan development for small and/or medium size projects.

• Clearly understands the scope of work and contract requirements or those requirements that pertain to his/her area of responsibility.

Minimum Qualifications:

Level 7:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Facility Management or other relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

• Experience: 12 years engineering, operations/maintenance, M&O, construction, project controls, and/or procurement experience

Level 8:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Facility Management or other relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

• Experience: 15 years engineering, operations/maintenance, M&O, construction, project controls, and/or procurement experience. Proven performance as Project Manager on previous project(s). Capable of performing as the highest project lead on a medium-risk, medium-complexity project. Has experience in various project management activities such as planning, budgeting and performance management.

Level 9:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Facility Management or other relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

• Experience: 18 years engineering, operations/maintenance, M&O, construction, project controls, and/or procurement experience. Proven performance as Project Manager on previous project(s). Capable of performing as the highest project lead on a medium-risk, medium-complexity project. Has experience in various project management activities such as planning, budgeting and performance management.

Level 10:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Facility Management, or other relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

• Experience: 20 years engineering, operations/maintenance, M&O, construction, project controls, and/or procurement experience. A record of proven performance as Senior Project Manager on previous projects. Capable of performing as the project manager on a medium risk, medium to high complexity project.

Level 11:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Facility Management or other relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

• Experience: Extensive years engineering, operations/maintenance, M&O, construction, project controls, and/or procurement experience. Record of proven performance as a Project Director on medium risk medium to high complexity project(s). Capable of performing as the project manager on a high- risk high-complexity project.

Level 12:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Facility Management or other relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

• Experience: Extensive years engineering operations/maintenance, M&O, construction, project controls, and/or procurement experience. Has a record of proven performance as a senior project manager on large and/or complex projects.
