Job Summary:

Akima Infrastructure Services, LLC (AIS), is actively seeking candidates to support personnel as part of our staff augmentation team supporting the Department of Energy in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Successful candidates will be employees of AIS, a premier government contractor charged with employing highly motivated and well-qualified personnel who can advance customer's core mission. Though employed by AIS, the employee will take day-to-day direction and assignments from customer staff and procedures. Pay, benefits, Human Resources, and Employment Management functions are provided by AIS.

Qualified applicants must be a US citizen, at least 18 years of age, and able to meet pre-employment requirements including any required physicals, drug screen, and/or background investigation to satisfy clearance requirements from the Department of Energy.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Possesses the ability to perform more complex purchasing/subcontract functions.

  • Has strong computer skills with basic understanding of the company cornerstone systems and processes.

  • Proven competence in problem resolution.

  • Understands basic legal terminology within the company’s terms and conditions and recognizes the impact of deviations.

  • Prepares evaluation of subcontractors’ capabilities and Requests for Proposals for subcontracts of simple to medium complexity.

  • May assist in analyzing proposals to determine potential for cost savings.

  • Understands basic requirements of the FAR.

  • Assists in the preparation of subcontract reports.

Minimum Qualifications:

Level 1:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Contracts, Law, or Cost Engineering, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training, and related experience.

  • Experience: Internship experience in procurement and/or contracts desired (8 years of experience required in lieu of a bachelor’s degree).

Level 2:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Contracts, Law, or Cost Engineering or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training, and related experience.

  • Experience: 2 years of experience in procurement and/or contracts required (10 years of experience required in lieu of a bachelor’s degree).

Level 3:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Contracts, Law, or Cost Engineering or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training, and related experience.

  • Experience: 5 years of experience in procurement and/or contracts requiring at least 1 year of experience in federal contracts or procurement (13 years of experience required in lieu of a bachelor’s degree).

Level 4:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Contracts, Law, or Cost Engineering or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training, and related experience.

  • Experience: 8 years of experience in procurement and/or contracts requiring at least 2 years of experience in federal contracts or procurement (16 years of experience required in lieu of a bachelor’s degree).
