Job Summary:

Akima Infrastructure Services, LLC (AIS), is actively seeking candidates to support personnel as part of our staff augmentation team supporting the Department of Energy in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Successful candidates will be employees of AIS, a premier government contractor charged with employing highly motivated and well-qualified personnel who can advance customer's core mission. Though employed by AIS, the employee will take day-to-day direction and assignments from customer staff and procedures. Pay, benefits, Human Resources, and Employment Management functions are provided by AIS.

Qualified applicants must be a US citizen, at least 18 years of age, and able to meet pre-employment requirements including any required physicals, drug screen, and/or background investigation to satisfy clearance requirements from the Department of Energy.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conducts work requiring independent evaluation, selection, adaptation and modification of standard techniques and procedures.

  • Provides general direction to key project management personnel.

  • Provides management guidance and monitors the performance of Projects and operations in the assigned area.

  • Oversees engineering, procurement and construction activities.

  • Appoints key project personnel, subject to client approval; reviewing and approving other project staff appointments; and directing the overall staffing effort.

  • Reviews and approves project plans, cost estimates, budgets and schedules.

  • Provides general direction to key project management personnel.

Minimum Qualifications:

Level 7/8:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience: 12 years project integration and management experience to include construction, project controls, and engineering.

Level 9:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience: 15 years project integration and management experience to include construction, project controls, and engineering.

Level 10:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience: 18 years project management experience. Thorough knowledge of construction, engineering, procurement and other project related activities, their interfaces and interdependencies. Broad general experience and education; rotation through and exposure to several departments. Proficiency and experience in: Project Management Construction and engineering management staffing, estimating and budgeting & scheduling business development Business administration and management.
