Job Summary:

Akima Infrastructure Services, LLC (AIS), is actively seeking candidates to support personnel as part of our staff augmentation team supporting the Department of Energy in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Successful candidates will be employees of AIS, a premier government contractor charged with employing highly motivated and well-qualified personnel who can advance customer's core mission. Though employed by AIS, the employee will take day-to-day direction and assignments from customer staff and procedures. Pay, benefits, Human Resources, and Employment Management functions are provided by AIS.

Qualified applicants must be a US citizen, at least 18 years of age, and able to meet pre-employment requirements including any required physicals, drug screen, and/or background investigation to satisfy clearance requirements from the Department of Energy.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides direction in matters dealing with export control (exchange, or the release of materials, equipment or technology, etc.).

  • Provides guidance to suppliers, in consultation with appropriate program management oversight organizations regarding export control matters.

  • Interfaces with all levels of staff (management, employees, HQ, etc.) to ensure consistency and integration of export control policies, procedures and practices across all Corporation elements and locations.

  • Reviews, approves and publishes relevant plans, policies, procedures, guidelines, schedules, and status reports, as appropriate.

  • Reviews equipment, materials and technology and assigns the recommended export control classification numbers for release to other entities.

  • Maintains current knowledge and level of expertise on export control rules, regulations, and guidance including 10 CFR Part 810 and Acquisition Guide 3.3, through ongoing participation in training, meetings, seminars, government consultations, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (Trade, Security Management, Criminal Justice, Business, Education preferred) with seven (7) years of related experience required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • With an associate degree, 11 years of related experience is required, or

  • With a High School Diploma, 15 years of related experience is required.

  • Minimum of four years of experience in a material handling or shipping/receiving industrial setting preferred.

  • Certification in Export Compliance (EAR/ITAR) preferred.

  • Active DOE L clearance, upgradeable to a DOE Q clearance.
