Job Summary:

Akima Infrastructure Services, LLC (AIS), is actively seeking candidates to support personnel as part of our staff augmentation team supporting the Department of Energy in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Successful candidates will be employees of AIS, a premier government contractor charged with employing highly motivated and well-qualified personnel who can advance customer's core mission Though employed by AIS, the employee will take day-to-day direction and assignments from customer staff and procedures. Pay, benefits, Human Resources, and Employment Management functions are provided by AIS.

Qualified applicants must be a US citizen, at least 18 years of age, and able to meet pre-employment requirements including any required physicals, drug screen, and/or background investigation to satisfy clearance requirements from the Department of Energy.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support preparation and maintenance of Building/Facility Emergency Plans, Local Emergency Plans, and Emergency Action Plans emergency management procedures.

  • Interact with a cross section of customers personnel/management to develop emergency plans and implementing documents required by the Emergency Management Program.

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of a compliant technical basis for the Emergency Management Program.

  • Prepare and maintain Building/Facility Emergency Plans and emergency management procedures.

  • Support emergency management training activities and serve as subject matter expert in assigned areas of responsibility.

  • Assist with developing emergency management plans and implementing procedures required to maintain compliance with ETTP Standards/Requirements Identification Documents, including DOE Orders, federal laws, and the TN Oversight Agreement.

  • Support planning and development of emergency management readiness through assessments, training, drills, exercises, corrective actions and program improvements.

  • Assist with developing emergency management plans and implementing procedures required to maintain compliance with ETTP Standards/Requirements Identification Documents, including DOE Orders, federal laws and the TN Oversight Agreement.

  • Support emergency management training activities and serve as subject matter expert in assigned areas of responsibility.

  • Maintain training and qualification to serve as a member of the Event Response Team and participate during emergency events and exercises.

  • Plan and conduct Operational Emergency drills to foster an awareness of abnormal conditions and to reinforce proper conduct of operations principles.

Minimum Qualifications:

Level 3:

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience

  • Minimum Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in emergency management, exercise planning and conduct, or related emergency response work.

Level 4:

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience

  • Minimum Experience: 8 years of experience in emergency management, exercise planning and conduct or related emergency response work. Demonstrated experience in technical writing and the ability to make oral presentations.
