Job Summary:
Akima Infrastructure Services, LLC (AIS), is actively seeking candidates to support personnel as part of our staff augmentation team supporting the Department of Energy in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Successful candidates will be employees of AIS, a premier government contractor charged with employing highly motivated and well-qualified personnel who can advance customer's core mission Though employed by AIS, the employee will take day-to-day direction and assignments from customer's staff and procedures. Pay, benefits, Human Resources, and Employment Management functions are provided by AIS.
Qualified applicants must be a US citizen, at least 18 years of age, and able to meet pre-employment requirements including any required physicals, drug screen, and/or background investigation to satisfy clearance requirements from the Department of Energy.
Job Responsibilities:
Monitors routine duties for a single construction discipline or a functional area consisting of several disciplines.
Provides second level supervision of craft personnel.
Supervises and directs the activities of foreman.
Ensures that workers are adequately supplied with direction, material, and equipment.
Maintains records and time sheets.
Provides operational direction to craft general foreman, craft foreman, and assigned non-manual personnel.
Prepares reports and forecasts, as required, and keeps supervisors informed on progress of overall assigned activities.
Assists superintendents in the preparation of construction methods, schedules, manning charts, material and equipment requirements.
Supervises and directs subordinate field non-manual personnel, as assigned.
Ensures Zero Accident safety standards and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craftsmen and others when in the operational area, tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.
Minimum Qualifications:
Level 4:
Minimum Education: High School diploma or equivalent
Minimum Experience: 10 years of related work experience in construction industry required.
Level 5:
Minimum Education: High School diploma or equivalent
Minimum Experience: 12 years of related work experience with at least 4 years of experience in field supervision
Level 6:
Minimum Education: High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
Minimum Experience: 15 years of related work experience including at least 5 years of experience in field construction.
Level 7:
Minimum Education: bachelor’s degree in a Construction related discipline or demonstrated combination of equivalent education and experience.
Minimum Experience: 15 years related field construction experience, including at least 2 years of experience in field construction.
