Job Summary:
Akima Infrastructure Services, LLC (AIS), is actively seeking candidates to support personnel as part of our staff augmentation team supporting the Department of Energy in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Successful candidates will be employees of AIS, a premier government contractor charged with employing highly motivated and well-qualified personnel who can advance customer's core mission. Though employed by AIS, the employee will take day-to-day direction and assignments from customer staff and procedures. Pay, benefits, Human Resources, and Employment Management functions are provided by AIS.
Qualified applicants must be a US citizen, at least 18 years of age, and able to meet pre-employment requirements including any required physicals, drug screen, and/or background investigation to satisfy clearance requirements from the Department of Energy.
Job Responsibilities:
Calculate, monitor and analyze all indirect rates for UCOR.
Establish cost model and maintain Disclosure Statement.
Properly depreciate and capitalize the Department of Energy (DOE) assets.
Manage the funding for all UCOR projects/programs and monitory related costs and encumbrances.
Provide day-to-day support to Managers of Projects/Programs with respect to funds management.
Ensure correct and timely payment of payroll to UCOR employees.
Prepare and submit reports to various tax entities, Department of Labor and others as required.
Report and pay premiums for all employees benefit plans and contributions to 401K plans on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis.
Operate the Oracle Financial System including transfer of financial data to Planning and Control Project Management Cost Processor System and DOE Financial System.
Perform a variety of tasks associated with ensuring prompt and accurate payment of vendor and subcontractor invoices and employee expense reports in accordance with terms of procurement document and DOE orders.
Perform a variety of tasks associated with the prompt billing of costs to Work for Others customers, DOE Prime Contractors, East Tennessee Technology Park Reindustrialization tenets and Corporate Affiliates.
Provide functional oriented support of the various Financial Systems and applications used for the CFO Organization.
Perform various duties associated with CFO activities outside the scope of the four segment managers.
Minimum Qualifications:
BS/AS in Business/Accounting, or any combination of training and experience.
One year related accounting experience.
General knowledge of basic business practices and theories.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Basic computer skills.
Thorough knowledge of accounting practices.
Working knowledge of computer systems as applied to accounting function.
Familiarity with government accounting principles.
