Job Responsibilities:
The Battery Shop Technician will provide aircraft and GSE batteries as required to maintenance personnel and maintain batteries, shop, and charging areas in an orderly manner.
Inspects, tests, maintains, repairs, and issues aircraft and GSE batteries in accordance with applicable references and instructions.
Maintains an aircraft battery locker IAW the NA 17-15BAD-1 and other applicable publications.
Ensures all training is correctly documented IAW applicable references.
Uses and performs operator maintenance on tools, special tools/test equipment, Aircraft Ground Support Equipment (AGSE), and Peculiar Ground Support Equipment (PGSE).
Performs shift “All Tools Accounted For” (ATAF) inventories and attends all hands Foreign Object or Debris (FOD) walk downs to maintain standards that comply with FOD and Tool Control procedures.
Maintains and accounts for all batteries in the inventory and aircraft and GSE.
Requests and receives aircraft materials from the supply system and ensure applicable technical directives have been complied with prior to installation/use on aircraft.
Prepares, reviews, and updates aircraft maintenance forms and records.
Uses common measuring tools, measuring gages, alignment fixtures, and special tools.
Ensures that all related maintenance operations are conducted in a safe manner.
Other tasks, duties, and responsibilities, as directed.
Minimum Qualifications:
6 years of relevant experience.
Successfully completed, and qualified by the appropriate U.S. Government Battery Shop course
Proficient in the use of computer-hosted interactive technical manuals, aircraft maintenance forms or similar aviation maintenance management systems, and other aircraft-related documentation.
Professional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to effectively communicate with the customer in a professional and courteous manner.
Possess a valid issued driver’s license.
Successfully pass an overseas deployment physical upon hire.
HS diploma or equivalent required.
Interim Secret Clearance required to start on day one of employment.
Desired Qualifications:
Seven to ten (7-10) years of directly related experience.
CDQAR experience desirable.
Associates Degree.
FAA A & P.
