Job Responsibilities:

• The elements of the position are as follows: Keep building in clean and orderly condition. Duties involve a combination of the following: sweeping, mopping or scrubbing, and polishing floors; removing trash and recyclables, dusting furniture or fixtures; polishing metal fixtures or trimmings; and cleaning lavatories, showers, toilets, urinals, walls and restroom sinks.

• Ensures that restrooms and janitorial closets are clean and stocked. Comply with requirements identified in the Performance Work Statement (PWS) and Contract Task Order (CTO) 4 & 5

• Supports the company and NASA established goals and objectives, with emphasis on workplace safety policy and guidelines.

• Positive verbal communication skills with internal and external customers

• Ability to work safely, independently or with teams.

• Must be courteous with positive customer service skills

• Detailed oriented and must be able to work with minimum supervision.

• Ability to assist in special events during load in and load out process of materials and supplies to include cleaning of all tables, chairs, trash receptacles, recyclable receptacles and canopies.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Ability to lift heavy items from 5-50 pounds continuously.

• Possess a clean DMV driving record and valid driver’s license.

• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.

Physical Demands:

• Work requires long periods of walking, standing, bending, stooping, squatting and climbing and the use of stools.

• Pushing work cart with janitorial equipment and transporting cart and supplies to various outbuildings during various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain).

• Lifting is required between 5-50 lbs. High dusting, blinds cleaning and window washing requires use of a ladder; some confined space access is necessary to clean equipment, mechanical rooms or under raised flooring.

• Stair well cleaning requires climbing inside and outside staircases carrying cleaning tools and materials.
