Job Summary:
Working under the direction of the Motor Pool Supervisor, they shall provide safe, timely transportation for NASA employees to local bus and train terminals in support of the Ames Commute Alternative Program.
Responsibilities:
Provides shuttle bus driving service per published schedule. Follows all published rules, schedules and routes without deviation.
Responsible for obtaining the daily and monthly counts of bus passengers necessary for the daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
Maintain excellent vehicle driving and safety practices while operating the shuttle bus.
Accidents or Mishaps: Immediately reports to the Project Management Office on any type of accident or mishap.
Vehicle Responsibility: Performs mechanical, safety and cleanliness inspections daily. Check oil, fuel, and battery level daily and add as required. Identify equipment replacement needs for NASA Ames shuttle buses.
Responsible for the normal care and cleaning of NASA Ames shuttle buses.
Reports mechanical/safety deficiencies to the Motor Pool Supervisor for immediate correction.
Ensure all riders have appropriate credentials and identification to enter the Center.
Prepares necessary paperwork such as Shuttle Bus tracking report, trip tickets, special trip log and accident reports as required; ensuring that dates, rider counts, and other information is accurate and complete. Fill out a NASA Mishap Report within 24 hours and submit to the Project Management Office.
Supports the company and NASA established goals and objectives, with emphasis on workplace safety policy and guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications:
Class B driver’s license and passenger endorsement.
Possess a clean DMV driving record.
Current commercial driver medical card.
You must be able to meet all health requirements, including but not limited to, current and future vaccination requirements for infectious diseases such as COVID-19.
