Position Title: Clerk, General Bindery and Print Assistant Lead
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Lead will Work under the direction of the Deputy Project Manager/Project Manager to support daily Graphics and Reproduction Copying services for NASA Ames Research Center in Moffett Field, CA. ALS, LLC provides the full spectrum of logistics services, ranging from performance-based and integrated logistics services (PBL & ILS), material management, graphics, reproduction and coping services to include Conference Center and Special Event support services. Today’s, government agencies, and commercial enterprises depend on modern, sophisticated logistics systems to provide critical operations support and timely services. ALS provides exceptional services and ongoing improvements to enable these organizations to be effective and efficient. Comply with requirements identified in the Performance Work Statement (PWS) and Contract Task Order (CTO) 9a and 9b
Supports the company and NASA established goals and objectives, with emphasis on workplace safety policy and guidelines.
Ability to work in cold and hot conditions in or out door rain or shine
Positive verbal communication skills with internal and external customers
Ability to work safely, independently or with teams.
Must be courteous with positive customer service skills
Detailed oriented and must be able to work with minimum to no supervision.
Provide Customer support, answering questions and offering support to clients at NASA Ames
Ability to effectively and efficiently utilize printing equipment such as comb binding, coil binding, cutting, folding, collating, drilling, padding and stitching.
Able to setup, maintain/clean and perform minor preventative maintenance of bindery equipment.
Ability to lead a team in accomplishing assigned task and achieve goals and objectives identified in the SOW and CTO’s
Ability to work with MacOS, Windows and UNIX environment.
Ability to be the SME with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat & Creative Suite, FileMaker Pro, Xerox Free Flow Print Server, Xerox, and Make Ready and Quark Xpress.
Highly organized with the ability to keep work place clean orderly and presentable at all times
Ability to monitor team’s progress and deliver high quality work in short timelines.
Ability to be highly productive, and work in the absence of order or direction.
Assist in Recording job tracking and job ticketing information in a computerized database furnished by the Government. All completed work orders shall be marked “closed” with the completion date recorded in the database.
Support the Printing Office by assisting in the following:
Data entry of all received service requests (SRs) in the FileMaker system, and update system data as new information on received SR is received
Track service requests for completion and order pick up
Generate FileMaker system data statistics in response to annual data call
Other miscellaneous tasks:
Process visitor badge requests
Assist customers (walk-in or by e-mail message) relative to their documentation services needs c. Compile, copy and distribute materials accordingly
Set up, organize and maintain hard and soft back-up files (i.e., spreadsheets, charts, graphs, documents, reports, etc.)
Provide back-up support as necessary
Provide reports as required by the project office and SOW and CTO’s
This position may be assigned to first or second shift and some weekend duty may be required.
Need Flexible Schedule around events (early a.m. - 6:00 a.m.., occasional staggered schedule for late p.m. and occasional weekends)
Physical Duties:
Work requires long periods of walking, standing, bending, stooping, squatting climbing and sitting, lifting. Pushing and pulling of numerous work related carts and material handling equipment. Transport and set up materials, supplies, equipment in various destinations within the conference center for events, meetings and or socials. You may be exposed to conditions (hot, cold). Lifting is required between 5-50 lbs.
Basic Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Possess a clean DMV driving record and valid driver’s license.
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language
Ability to lift heavy equipment/materials up to 50 pounds.
Possess exceptional administrative and customer service skills and ability to multitask
Typing and database entry skills, 30 wpm Some College or Degree
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with calendar database systems
Prior proven experience in office management and professional office environment
Dependable, Reliable and Consistent timeliness at work
Detail-oriented individual able to work independently with minimum supervision
Work cohesively in a small team
Organized with multiple priorities and deadlines
Strong problem solving skills for on the spot solutions
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Calm under pressure with customers, vendors, co-workers
Ability to work under pressure and able to adapt to multiple changes
Ability to Lead a small team in meeting established goals and objectives
Flexible work schedule around events (between 7-5:30pm) with some evenings and weekends
