Job Summary
The System Administrator, VI SME will play a critical role in ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the information systems that support core organizational functions. This individual will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments.
Job Responsibilities:
Oversee the day-to-day operations of server environments to ensure system performance meets user requirements.
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for server configurations, policies, and procedures.
Collaborate with the IT team to develop and implement IT solutions that meet the requirements specified by the customer.
Provide technical leadership in the resolution of complex system issues, leveraging expertise in system administration.
Develop and maintain documentation of the system infrastructure, including diagrams, configurations, and operational procedures using Microsoft Visio.
Work closely with the security team to ensure the system infrastructure is compliant with security policies and standards.
Mentor and train junior system administrators, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
Minimum Qualifications:
In accordance with DoD 8140.03-M, must meet the Intermediate Proficiency Level qualifications.
Must have at least three years of experience managing, supporting, patching, backing up, and restoring VMWare vCenter & Horizon View environments within DoD.
Must have experience securing systems and applications in accordance with Federal, DoD, and HQ USINDOPACOM regulations, directives, policies, and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG).
Must have at least two years of experience managing Cisco UCS in a DoD environment.
Must have experience managing VMware NSX.
Must have experience managing Rubrik and Cohesity.
Must have experience managing VMware vSan, vCOPS, vRO, Aria, and ESXi in a DoD environment.
Must have experience managing Tintri and Pure storage.
Must have experience supporting Endpoint Security Solutions (ESS) agents.
Must be “VMware Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization (VCP - DCV) 6 (or later)” certified and certification must be in good standing.
Security Clearance:
- Must possess an active Top-Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI access.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience working in a large enterprise environment, with a proven track record of managing complex system infrastructures. Maintaining 100 VMs across different physical locations.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve system issues effectively.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various teams and stakeholders.
Continuity of Operations (COOP) experience in design, implementation, maintenance and testing of.
