Job Summary:

The System Administrator, GCCS/AMHS SME will be responsible for building, managing, and supporting Global Command & Control System-Joint (GCCS-J) and Automated Message Handling System (AMHS) hardware, operating systems, and applications in a DoD environment. The candidate will ensure the security and efficiency of these systems in accordance with DoD policies and directives.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Build, manage, and support GCCS-J and AMHS hardware, operating systems, and applications.

  • Manage and secure Windows Servers and Windows Workstations within a DoD environment.

  • Utilize knowledge and experience of Microsoft SQL and Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) in a DoD environment.

  • Manage and support JOPES, VSE, and Agile Client.

  • Secure systems and applications in accordance with DoD policies and directives and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG).

  • Manage and secure Windows server and workstation operating systems in a DoD Virtual Machine Operating Environment (VOE) like VMware.

  • Utilize PowerShell scripting, Active Directory Service Management, Group Policy, and automation.

  • Patch GCCS and AMHS servers and workstations via automated tools.

  • Back up and restore Active Directory, Windows operating systems, AMHS, and GCCS applications in a virtual environment via automated tools.

  • Manage and review audit logs.

  • Support Endpoint Security Solutions (ESS) agents on Windows systems.

  • Prepare analytical reports, information papers, and briefings for executive-level recipients using Microsoft Office tools.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • In accordance with (IAW) DoD 8140.03-M, must meet the Intermediate Proficiency Level qualifications.

  • At least three years of experience building, managing, and supporting GCCS-J and AMHS hardware, operating systems, and applications in a DoD environment.

  • Experience managing and securing Windows Servers and Windows Workstations within a DoD environment.

  • Knowledge and experience of Microsoft SQL and Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) in a DoD environment.

  • Experience managing and supporting JOPES, VSE, and Agile Client.

  • Experience securing systems and applications in accordance with DoD policies and directives and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG).

  • Experience managing and securing Windows server and workstation operating systems in a DoD Virtual Machine Operating Environment (VOE) like VMware.

  • Knowledge of PowerShell scripting, Active Directory Service Management, Group Policy, and automation is required.

  • Experience patching GCCS and AMHS servers and workstations via automated tools.

  • Experience backing up and restoring Active Directory, Windows operating systems, AMHS, and GCCS applications in a virtual environment via automated tools.

  • Experience in managing and reviewing audit logs.

  • Experience supporting Endpoint Security Solutions (ESS) agents on Windows systems.

  • Experience using Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio) in preparing analytical reports, information papers, and briefings for executive-level recipients.
