Job Summary:
SAVA is looking to fill critical Information Technology based positions for our customer with the United States Coast Guard. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities: outstanding customer service, expertise/knowledge in the required field, a strong work ethic and dedication to the Coast Guard’s mission
The NEL analyzes network characteristics such as traffic, connect time, transmission speeds, packet sizes, and throughput.
The NEL assists more senior network engineers with the installation, removal and modifications to network components.
The NEL supports more senior network engineers with user support and third-party vendors.
Provides Tier I/II support for one-year project to migrate U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Cisco routers from existing Verizon circuits to AT&T circuits.
The ideal candidate will be able to support a rotating shift schedule.
100% Remote.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide ongoing network support, addresses availability issues, overcomes performance problems and provides overall level 2 support.
Manage network performance, diagnoses performance problems and undertakes tuning activities to ensure network performance meets SLR requirements.
Troubleshoots and resolves problems to ensure quality transmission service on the network.
Reports on overall network performance including frequent problems, underlying issues and plans to improve network availability, performance, and problem resolution.
Implements and coordinates network policies, procedures, and standards.
Enforces network security procedures.
Works under general supervision, providing solutions to technical problems of moderate scope/complexity.
Interpret alerts generated by monitoring systems.
Monitor the network stability and performance in order to maintain continual operations.
Coordinate communication between the various groups
Proactive incident and problem ticket creation based on event log and performance measures.
Minimum Qualifications:
US Citizenship required
Active DOD Secret Clearance
BS with 2-4 years, MS 1 year plus of network management experience and IT experience
WAN troubleshooting/problem determination skills (ISDN, ATM, SONET, etc.)
Experience with various types of infrastructure equipment (Cisco, Juniper)
Knowledge of network analysis tools (Cisco Prime, SolarWinds, Identity Services Engine, Cisco Adaptive Security Device Manager, etc.)
On the job experience with hardware and software configuration management
Outstanding customer service
Desired Skills:
Cisco Certified Network Associate/Professional (CCNA/CCNP) desired
Microsoft Technology Associate certification desired
Active Secret clearance is highly desirable.
Bachelor’s degree in information technology field
