Job Summary:
Systems Intelligence, an Akima company, is seeking a part time Night Shift/weekend - DBA that will work remotely with a staff of database administrators in the operation and maintenance of Government customer production and non-production databases, supporting our federal client located in the Washington. DC area.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide expertise on Oracle Golden Gate and be able to configure Golden Gate and troubleshoot the issues related to Golden Gate independently.
With broad and mid-level database technical knowledge and skills on Oracle, MySQL, MS SQL, and PostgreSQL databases, be able to provide database technical evaluation and recommendation on database design and architecture, integration and development, database high availability solution, database replication architecture, database backup, disaster and recovery strategies, grid computing and cloud management, database monitoring and management, performance tuning, database audit and security compliance and daily database operation and maintenance.
With strong database administration skills, be able to monitor and manage proactively both mission-critical production and development database environments at the enterprise level.
Experience in Creating and cloning databases, refreshing schemas using Export/import, Datapump.
Experience with PL/SQL development, implementing new stored procedures and scripts, resolve complex PLSQL compilation issues, and fix errors due to object grants/dependencies.
Experience and knowledge of SQL queries and SQL Trace/Explain plans, SQL performance tuning. Setting Oracle parameters, and options.
Knowledge of creating and maintaining Tables, Partitioning, indexes, Triggers, stored procedures, etc. in a large terabyte database environment.
Hands-on experience on installation and configuration and troubleshooting of Oracle products and patches, including Exadata, RAC, ASM, Clusterware, Data Guard, OID, Grid/Cloud Control and DBaaS environments.
Evaluate Oracle features and Oracle related products Monitoring, troubleshooting & resolution of failed tasks & Oracle database issues, taking action on issues reported by proactive monitoring setup and having a sense of urgency to fix issues ASAP.
Solid experience in Linux, MS Windows, Linux Shell scripting Experience with Database links and Oracle heterogeneous services.
Writes database documentation, including data standards, procedures, and definitions for the data dictionary.
Provide direction to Jr DBA's.
Plan growth and changes (capacity planning) Sound knowledge of the SDLC, and experience in code migration, database change management and data management.
Solid project management/team lead skills, development teams, vendors, and systems administrators, and users. Professionalism, Patience, a good attitude and working as a team member is paramount.
Work as part of a team and provide 7x24 support.
Minimum Qualifications:
Engagement Experience: Team Lead, Systems Design and Architecture (Maximum Availability Architecture, Golden Gate administration, RAC clustering, ASM, Database & Application Server, Disaster Recovery, Backup and Recovery).
Systems installation and configuration support (Oracle, MySQL, MS SQL, PostgreSQL).
Systems Analysis and Performance tuning. (Oracle, MySQL, MS SQL, PostgreSQL).
Application Server 10g, 9i, JVM Tuning etc., Application SQL and PL/SQL code tuning.
Support applications Development, Data Conversion, Migrations, Performance and Functional Testing.
Provide engineering, design and administration services to several mission-critical MS SQL, MySQL, Postgres, and Oracle databases.
Provide Support on an alternate work schedule that start Wednesday night and end Sunday morning.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a client specific Public Trust.
