Job Summary:

Akima Infrastructure Services, LLC (AIS), is actively seeking individuals who can contribute to national security within the project management and business services fields as part of our staff augmentation team supporting the Department of Energy at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). AIS has an established history of contributing to the success of our customer’s mission.

Successful candidates will be employees of AIS, a premier government contractor charged with employing highly motivated and well-qualified personnel who can advance the missions of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory located in Golden, CO. Though employed by AIS, the employee will take day-to-day direction from technical personnel employed directly by the research laboratory. Pay, benefits, Human Resource, and Employment Management functions are provided by AIS.

Qualified applicants must be a US citizen, at least 18 years of age, and able to meet pre-employment requirements including any required physicals, drug screen, and/or background investigation to satisfy clearance requirements from the Department of Energy.

Job duration is projected to be a 12-month period of performance w/ a 12-month option for extension.

Job Responsibilities:

  • The scope of this role is to develop both web-based and classroom training for NREL workers, including all course materials, exercises, and skills evaluations.

  • Responsible for coordinating and maintaining NREL’s e-learning offerings in conjunction with facilitator-led offerings within the LMS by posting and updating training content, course materials, assessment, job tutorials, and job aids.

  • Direct, recent experience with e-learning development, instructional design (including curricula), training methodologies, and online education.

  • In-depth, hands-on knowledge of authoring technologies, intranet design tools, and multimedia applications.

  • Experience administering and deploying enterprise-wide systems, such as a corporate LMS. Experience working with e-learning and blended learning programs, including developing web-based training and asynchronous learning content. Strong familiarity with recognized e-learning technical standards and requirements (SCORM, etc).

  • Experience developing rapid, just-in-time content development using an authoring tool such as Articulate or Captivate.

Minimum Qualification:

  • BA/BS degree in an applicable fieldCertificate in Learning, Design, and Technology or Higher Education in Learning, Design & Technology, or Instructional Design & Development preferred.

  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with graphic design and video production, including deploying learning modules via mobile devices. Experience using social media as a means of learning.

  • Experience working with safety and health regulatory standards.

  • General knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, and other regulatory standards used in workplace ESH&Q organizations.

Special Requirements:

  • Pre-employment Drug Screen - External applicants selected for this position are required to successfully complete a post-offer, pre-employment drug test.

  • Medical Exam(s) - Job related pre-placement medical examinations may be required for this position.

  • This position may require the ability to obtain and maintain a clearance from the Department of Energy. If determined as such, this position would be identified as a Workplace Substance Abuse (WSAP) testing designated position. WSAP positions require participation in an ongoing random drug testing program in addition to the pre-employment drug screen.

Pay and Benefits:

  • Salary Range: $42.00 to $48.00 per hour – The salary offered to the successful candidate will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications, work experience, and their ability to meet the known requirements of the position as determined at the time of hire.
