Job Responsibilities:
The Tractor-Trailer Truck Driver primarily transports, loads, unloads, stacks and stages ammunition, including rockets and ammunition residue.
This driver may load or unload truck with forklift or other material handling equipment. Reviews paperwork, conducts inventory, and ensures accuracy of load. Ensures loads are properly secured and the truck is properly placarded.
Conducts daily vehicle inspections to ensure it is safe to transport ammunition. Makes minor mechanical, operator-level repairs to keep truck in good working order and reports deficiencies.
Tractor-Trailer Truck Driver: Straight truck, or tractor, over 4 tons, usually 10 wheels
Minimum Qualifications:
Valid Commercial Driver’s License w/ Hazmat Endorsement
Valid CDL Operator Medical Card
4 years truck driving experience
Ability to receive a favorable TIER-1 Investigation result and obtain a common access card (CAC)
Ability to pass Pre-Employment Drug Test and Background Screening
Ability to complete Ammunition Courses: AMMO 75, 112, 67, 45, 31, 63, 68, and 64
High School Diploma / Equivalent
Desired Qualifications:
Knowledgeable in U.S. Army maintenance procedures
U.S. Army 88M series MOS qualification or civilian equivalent
Ammunition certification: AMMO 75, 112, 67, 45, 31, 63, 68, and 64
DOT accident-free record
Drug free work ethic, with random urinalysis support
2 forklift experience
Physical Demands:
include (but are not limited to) the ability to lift 60 pounds, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, climbing, bending, squatting, and reaching.
Work environment includes periodic overtime, exposure to heat, dust, cold, inclement weather conditions, and areas with chemical or biological agents.
Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in certain areas. Such PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, hand, respiratory, vision and hearing protective devices. Must wear steel toe/safety shoes at all times.
