Job Summary:
The chosen candidate will act as the Lead System Administrator and Engineering point of contact. Conducting Tier II and Tier III technical support and installation support services for 4,500 users; 13,336 computer accounts; 37 networks. Over 2,111 virtual and physical servers of various operating systems and brands; 30 petabytes of disk storage. Excess of 383 petabytes of tape storage; systems configurations include Windows, Unix, and Linux. Apply ITIL, Agile, Lean methodologies to facilitate valuable investments, fast development, resilient operations, assured conformance, and continual improvement to co-create value with the customer.
Responsibilities:
Maintenance, configuration, security, and reliable operation of organization’s computer systems, network servers, and virtualization servers.
Installation and upgrading of computer components and software.
Managing virtual servers and integrating automation processes.
Troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
Documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact.
Providing documentation and technical specifications to customer for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure.
Performing required backup operations and implementing appropriate processes for data protection/cybersecurity, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.
Maintaining, administering, and updating VMware, Windows, RHEL, and CentOS products, applications and services.
Building, maintaining, and administering patch and deployment servers.
Providing input to Daily Logs, Weekly Activity Reports, and Monthly Reports on all network tasks performed, labor hours and parts used.
Providing monthly functional area reports summarizing work accomplished, work planned in next month and important issues occurring during the month.
Minimum Qualifications:
7 years work experience in equivalent IT career field; Prefer BA/BS in a related IT or STEM field of study.
Minimum of 7 years of experience troubleshooting complex IT problems independently; assisting junior staff with problem resolution.
Certifications:
IAT Level II certification per AFMAN 17-1303, DoDD 8140.01, and DoDD 8570.01-M and; two or more of the following:
Microsoft Certification (MTA, MCSA, or MCSE)
RHEL Admin or other Linux certification
Vmware Tech Associate or VMware Professional Certification
Amazon Web Svs Cloud Practitioner or Amazon SysOps Admin Certification
Oracle Professional Admin Certification
Desired Certification: ITIL Foundations
