Job Summary:
Supervisor, EMCS/ Controls Shop, Keesler AFB Base Operations Support (BOS) Contract, will oversee technicians on both the EMCS and Contrtols teams. The EMCS team maintains a 24/7 on site presence to ensure continuity of operations for Keesler AFB. Supervisor must be on site for critical operations and as needed.
Job Responsibilities:
The incumbent directs and oversees work assignments for the monitoring, operation and management of controls systems.
Manages both the EMCS and HVAC Controls teams, and reports to the Operations Manager.
Work accomplished by shop personnel includes preventive maintenance, plant operations, upgrades, and repair of select facilities and other real property, utility plants and systems.
Supervisor supports a comprehensive worker safety and health and environmental management program that prevents and reduces injuries, illnesses and losses and complies with Akima safety and environmental programs and guidelines.
Keeps Operations Manager apprised of unique situations and problems encountered.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalency.
Valid state driver's license.
Formal training and/or certification in the areas of HVAC, Heating, and Controls Systems or a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in each of these areas.
Experience with or training in low-pressure and high-pressure boiler systems and chilled water-cooling systems.
Experience and/or training in the areas of plumbing and pipefitting.
Experience and/or training in motor and pump maintenance.
Ability to solve problems and work independently or with minimal supervision in a team-oriented atmosphere.
Ability to adapt to changes in technology and applicable facility/infrastructure codes and standards.
Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional & courteous manner in diverse situations.
Demonstrated working ability read, write, speak and understand English.
Experience with NextGen, Maximo or similar computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
Has basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
Must carry an EPA universal refrigerant card, Type I and II.
Desired Qualifications:
Mechanical or electronics degree.
Maintains a MS BPA Testers Certification for backflow prevention.
Experience with NCC/Siemens fire alarm systems
