Engineering Technician - Pavements

Job Summary:

Works in Operations Engineering Department under general supervision of a degreed engineer to support asset management and life-cycle optimization of Keesler AFB roads and pavements.

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage requirements identification and prioritization for roadway and pavement systems.

• Work with Operations to develop and implement a program to analyze the condition of sidewalks, roads and other pavement areas and make recommendations for infrastructure longevity and improvement.

• Conduct infrastructure system assessments and maintain asset databases.

• Conduct root cause analysis of infrastructure failures and provide recommendations for system improvements.

• Analyze customer work requests to validate requirements, estimate workload/material costs and make design recommendations.

• Support post-storm recovery infrastructure assessments.

• Develop/update/manage Asset Management Portfolios (AMP) and sub-AMP(s) for airfield pavements and base-wide road network.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 10 years’ relevant work experience in pavement maintenance.

• Associate's degree in engineering technology or vocational school equivalent.

• Certifications appropriate for level of experience.

• Ability to pass a National Agency (NCIC) background check.

• Valid Driver’s License.
