Senior Systems Engineer (Top Secret w SCI Eligibility)

Responsibilities:

• Engineer, optimize, manage, secure, and deploy all necessary hardware and software required to run multiple virtualization technologies for a classroom as a service IT capability

• Serve as a virtualization engineer specializing in VMware virtualization technology or future virtualization technologies.

• Engineer, install, configure and manage virtualization environments, physical and virtual storage solutions, and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI).

• Install, configure and manage physical and virtual routers, switches, Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), Power Distribution Units (PDUs), servers, etc.

• Perform a variety of tasks to include identifying servers to be virtualized, creating test environments, validation, converting servers, and maintaining virtual infrastructure.

• Ensures that cyber security and OPSEC policies, principles, and practices are an integral element of the operating environment.

• Continually monitors and fine-tune performance of the Information Systems. Conducts analyses of network usage, user complaints, traffic interruptions, hardware and software capabilities, and other relevant factors. identify adverse trends, ineffective practices or procedures, equipment shortcomings, etc.

• Translate complex technical requirements into actionable and sustainable tasks.

• Compile reports ranging from a wide variety of topic areas related to existing and potential G6 IT projects, platforms and Systems.

• Establish, implement and operation of a continuous monitoring program across IT systems, including executing internal audits, SIEM, management, incident response, configuration management, compliance studies, change management, and other tasks required to establish a modified network security and operational optimization

Minimum Qualifications:

An Active Top Secret (TS) with eligibility for TS/SCI is required for consideration

• Information Assurance Technical Level II (IAT II) certification required.

• VMware Certified Advance Professional (VCAP) 2019 certification required.

• 10 years relevant experience highly preferred.

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science/Information Technology/Information Security or related field institution highly preferred.
