Job Summary:
Akima Data Management (ADM), an Akima company, is looking to hire a Graphics Designer to support a government client located in Rosslyn, VA.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain the customer branding and design standard to include guidance and templates for the commonly used presentations, publications and websites. This would include coordinating with product owners, technical subject matter experts, and leadership to ensure consistency across product lines and ad-hoc efforts. Standards would include color palettes, fonts, and layouts, and would take into consideration limitations of enterprise business software, specialized data and visualization software, and considerations such as Section 508 compliance.
Develop and update graphics, presentations, publications, communication platforms (e.g., SharePoint, external and internal websites) and other communication products to ensure products are consistent with branding and that product designs are effective in communicating the desired message. This includes both the direct development of graphics, creative briefs, and publications and supporting CGFS staff in applying graphic design standards and principles to their self-generated products.
Provide management with options and recommendations for data visualizations based on industry best practices.
Support efforts by applying branding standards to visualization products. This would include consulting on application of standards, directly applying standards in visualization software, rendering publication quality (pixel-perfect) visualizations, consulting on the effectiveness of visualizations, and providing surge support in data visualization by directly generating data visualizations as guided by CGFS’s analytic staff and SMEs.
Minimum Qualifications:
The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD secret clearance. Active Secret preferred.
Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Graphic Design or a related field), or commensurate work experience.
3 years of related experience.
Mastery of graphic design software and the application of design principles and standards in standard business software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite), communication platforms (e.g., M365), as well as knowledge of other visual assets & products as required, consisting of, but not limited to, creative briefs, illustrations, presentations, working papers, landing page site design etc.
