Job Summary:
The Distributed Mission Operations Center at Kirtland Air Force Base, NM uses and closed network that connects external
participants to each other and trains military command and control professionals through Distributed Interactive Simulation
protocols.
The Junior Engineer Analyst will span multiple Distributed Mission Operations Center's functional areas, to include
technical engineering, architecture, event/exercise/project support, test and training requirements, analysis and modeling,
and simulation activities. Works closely with the Senior Engineer Analyst to ensure SISO and Combat Air Forces
Distributed Mission Operations Standards are maintained. Knowledgeable on Distributive Interactive Simulation (DIS)
filtering methodologies and protocols.
Job Responsibilities:
Translating operational requirements into technical requirements.
Helping to design the exercise and event systems architecture.
Organizes engineering support for site liaison teams and DMOC internal systems.
Helping to organize and conduct the technical portion of the Exercise/Event Planning Conferences.
Developing event test plans, acceptance plans, and acceptance test reports for battlespace systems.
Coordinating technical efforts with other technical contractors and operational subject matter experts.
Coordinating development of individual system test plans, supervising system and integration testing and conducting daily technical briefings and debriefings.
Maintaining and assessing the technical statuses of the events/sites/systems .
Identifying and prioritizing technical problems and initiate troubleshooting measures .
Developing issue mitigation plans and leading those efforts to acceptable solutions.
Documenting and assessing technical lessons learned .
Troubleshooting system integration issues for both local and distributed participants .
Core competencies: Modeling and Simulation (M & S), Distributed Mission Operations (DMO), Training Test and
Evaluation (T & E).
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in computer engineering, computer science, or related field. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, an Associate's Degree with at least five (5) years of relevant experience.
Must be a US citizen and able to acquire a US Secret security clearance.
Desired Qualifications:
DMO experience working with Live, Virtual, and Constructive assets.
Systems engineering experience ideally in a military environment.
Familiar with programming languages (PERL, PYTHON, JAVA, etc).
Familiar with network integration (DTOC, DMON, JETEN, NCTE).
